Time of Report: 8:15
Wave Forecast: Flat-Knee
Traffic: None
Parking: Lots
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, January 10 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is frigid and lacking. This morning it is flat-to-knee-high at the outgoing tide.

Winds are north this morning at ~5 knots, and surf zone is weak and fairly clean.

Look for winds to continue north shifting to the north-east and remain at a constant 5-10 knots.

Low tide will be right around 11:28 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:30 p.m.

Virtual buoy data is reading 1.2 ft. at 15 seconds in an east/north-east ground swell, with most of the swell passing by our beaches.

High pressure brings cooler, drier weather to the beach this weekend, and winds remain side/off-shore shifting to west-south-west mid week. Surf will be small for the next several days.  There will be a weak low pressure crossing our marine area mid next week, possibly producing some SMALL surf for Tuesday/Wednesday. Another cold front approaches late week, and we should see some more south wind swell ahead of the front.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. Weak low pressure will track just off the Southeast coast Monday into Tuesday and again Wednesday. High pressure will build over the region Thursday. Then a strong cold front is expected to move through the region late this week, followed by cool high pressure into next weekend.”

It is a 37* and sunny this morning. Look for clouds with some sun peeking out today and a high of 55*.

Water temperature is 55*.

Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:33 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
