Good morning, this is Chad coming to you from The Washout for your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast. It is Sunday, January 12th at 9:00 a.m.
We still have lots of neoprene so swing by the shop and grab your next wetsuit today. Whether you’re chasing waves or just trying to avoid frostbite we’ve got you covered (literally).
Bro, shoulda been here yesterday – it was firing. But you are here today and its flat, so you got that going for ya. Dreaming of booking a surf trip? Westport, Washington is the “Surf City of the Pacific Northwest.” Crowds are thin so book that ticket now and enjoy some pumping waves all to yourself and a few locals. Forecast is looking pretty solid.
Winds are currently out of the east/northeast at 10 mph. Winds drop throughout the day and are variable. Nice day for a walk on the beach with the clear skies.
We will have a low tide right today at 12:41 p.m. High tide will be at 6:50 p.m.
Edisto Bouy is reading 1.6 feet at 6.2 seconds in a NNE swell.
It’s not looking too promising as we head into the work week. You have two choices: 1. Hibernate or 2. Get off your lazy rump and get it done. Seize the day amigos. Looks like we may have a shot at a quick swell next weekend. See gear up and be ready for that last second call for a late morning wind switch with the incoming tide.
Our guys and gals over at NOAA predict that a “High pressure will prevail through the remainder of the weekend. A weak storm system will pass mostly to the south on Monday, followed by more high pressure into the middle of next week.”
The water temperature is around 51*.
It is currently 38* and breezy right now. Look for a high of 48* today with clear skies.
Sunrise was at 7:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:33 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
