Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Sunday, January 28 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is waist high with stomach sets. Occasionally, it’s a little bigger.
Winds are currently west/south-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is side-shore and semi-choppy. It is soft at the higher tide, band it looks kind of fun. It’s not crowded after the cleaner surf yesterday.
Look for westerly winds increasing today behind a cold front and we see surf get beat down on the late afternoon low tide.
High tide will be at 9:19 a.m. Low tide will be at 3:31 p.m. Look for another high tide at 9:42 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 6 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south wind swell.
Today we see winds pick up from the west and surf should get blown down late today. This will start a downward trend in surf conditions for most of the work week,
NOAA Forecast: “A cold front will push offshore this morning, followed by high pressure into early next week. Another disturbance may cross over the region on Wednesday, then high pressure will remain through the rest of the week.”
Current water temp is back up to 55* after all this warm weather.
It’s 62* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 62* today and the wind will start blowing with hazy conditions this afternoon.
Sunrise is 7:16 a.m., Sunset 5:48 p.m.
That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
