Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Sunday, January 7th at 8:00 a.m.

Surf is waist high looking ok, winds are side off-shore, its rideable get on it quick surf will drop later today.

Currently winds are west at 10-15mph

Low tide is at 10:30 a.m. High tide is at 4:16 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 6.9ft at 8 seconds from the south south-east.

Surf is around waist high on average, not looking the best but definitely rideable. Later Sunday surf should fizzle out as the day progresses and the surf will then turn flat to begin our work week. Tuesday Look for winds to begin coming from the south and rapidly increasing blowing up to gail force, surf is going to rapidly build again on Tuesday from an approaching system from our west. Unfortunately winds to look to turn offshore overnight Tuesday and blow pretty hard, so again hopefully we have some leftover swell on Wednesday morning.  Cleanup Timing isn’t on our side these two swells but we will have surf. All for now.

NOAA Forecast: “high pressure later in the weekend through early next week. A stronger storm system will impact the area Monday night through Tuesday night. High pressure will briefly rebuild during the middle of next week, before the next system arrives late in the week.”

Current water temp: 58*.

It’s sunny this morning! 50* this morning with a high of 57s* Sunshine continuing.

Sunrise is 7:22 a.m., Sunset 5:26 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
