Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 10 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at The Washout are knee-to-thigh high. It look like it could turn on a little bit early afternoon as the tide comes back in. Maybe a waist high set early afternoon. It’s closing out as the tide goes out this morning.

Winds are west/southwest at 10 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean, early.

We are expecting winds to shift south-west, side-shore, at 10 knots. Surf should be bumpy today, with waves cleaning up during frequent showers and thunderstorms today.

Low tide is at 11 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:41 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south wind wave.

Look for small south wind swell today in the thigh high range (plus sets on incoming) with side-shore south-west winds. Winds could become variable during frequent showers and thunderstorms this afternoon as a frontal boundary stalls over our marine area. This trend continues into Monday, with waves averaging knee high with a bigger set. Waves should pick up again Wednesday into Thursday, but it’s the same low quality, short-period south-west wind swell we normally see this time of year.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will stall over or near the area early this week keeping the weather quite unsettled. High pressure should then return toward mid week with another cold front likely to impact the region later in the week.”

It’s 78* and cloudy this morning. We see a high of 84* with a 90% chance for showers and thunderstorms today.

Water Temperature is around 85*.

Sunrise is at 6:20 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
