Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 12 at 6:30 a.m.

Mandatory Mask Ordinance enacted by Folly Beach City Council in late June. You must wear a mask in Ocean Surf Shop. Thank you for your cooperation, and for supporting our small, local business.

Surf at Folly this morning is running thigh-waist high and semi clean, early. There is a stomach set in a south trade-wind swell. It’ll likely build a bit on the incoming morning tide push.

Winds are light from the south-west 5 to 10 knots, and there is some surface texture in the surf zone, but overall we have semi-clean conditions, early.

Winds should stay mild out of the south-west time at 5 to 8 knots, and surf should have a little south-west bump in it all day.

We are coming off a low tide at 7:45 a.m., and high tide will be at 2:07 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:12 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 feet at 8 seconds in an east/south-east swell.

There is some swell at the buoy, and some surf in the water as the tide comes in this morning. Surf looks like it could be fun on the incoming tide this morning, especially for the high-volume boards.  Surf should continue early in the work week with an onshore flow forecasted as a stationary front lingers in our marine area through Tuesday. This should keep a building trend through Monday afternoon where it should peak into the waist/stomach-high range. Winds will be a slight factor keeping surf semi-choppy. Also keep your eyes on the tropics!

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A weak stationary front will linger over or near our area through early next week. High pressure is expected to return during the middle of next week and persist through late next week.”

It’s 84* and sunny at the beach this morning. Look for a hot day with a high of 88* at the beach and high humidity.

Water temperature is up to 85*.

Sunrise is at 6:19 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
