Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:00 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Ankle-to-knee high
Traffic: None
Parking: Lots
Dangers: Summer flat spells

Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 18 at 8:00 a.m.

We have a new shipment of Gary Wilson boards in the shop. We also received some Torq boards. Come check them out.

Surf at the Washout this morning is ankle-to-knee high and disorganized. Surf has poor form at the lower tide, but perhaps it’ll get a little better late morning as the tide comes in.

Winds are south, south-west at 10 knots this morning. There is a slight drift up the beach.

Look for similar wind direction this afternoon at 10 to 15 knots, and we see choppy surf for the remainder of your Sunday.

Tide is coming in, High tide will be at 3:35 p.m. Low will be at 9:48 p.m.

We see choppy surf averaging ankle-to-knee high for Sunday. The low tide is producing poor form and conditions this morning, not worth the paddle out this morning. It’ll likely still be rideable on a longboard if you feel like getting wet today, but I’d target that incoming high for best potential of wave size and form. High pressure is set up over our marine area, bringing us a typical summer weather pattern and typical summer south wind-swell. No major swell to mention on the horizon, and the tropics look quiet for a week to 10 days out.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “The area will remain between Atlantic high pressure and an inland trough through late week.”

It’s sunny this morning and 81*. Look for a high of 84* today and partly cloudy skies this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:25 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:27 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
