Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday July 23rd at 8:45 a.m.
This morning at the pier is running shin to knee high. It’s clean with winds out of the west around 6 knots.
Winds are forecasted to go south this afternoon around 5-10 knots, so it should get a little bump on it.
We have a high tide at 12:22 p.m., and a low tide 6:16 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft at 5.6 seconds in a south-west wind swell.
This morning is running pretty small at about mid tide. With high pressure set up over our marine area for the foreseeable future, it’s going to be hard to see any REAL surf in our future. Maybe some south-west wind-swell here and there, but it’s looking pretty dang small overall. We have another dome of high pressure forecast to set up again early next week, so not expecting too much surf, unfortunately. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A weak stationary front will remain inland early this week before dissipating. Weak high pressure will then prevail.”
Water temperature is around 85*.
It’s 81* and sunny this morning. Expect sunny to partly cloudy and hot today with a high of 90* and a heat index around 95* Stay hydrated! Chance of of a thunderstorm this evening.
Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
