Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 24 at 8:30 a.m.
We’ve got another shipment of Catch Surf softies in the mix. We also received a shipment of Mick Fanning Softboards, including the DHD fish models. Come check ‘em out before we sell out again.
Waves at The Washout are small with knee to some thigh high sets. It’s pretty drained out on the outgoing this morning.
Winds are south at 4 knots and pretty clean this morning. Look for winds to clock south-west at 5-10 knots today. We see a semi-choppy surf zone later today.
Low tide will be at 11:15 a.m., and high tide will be at 5:50 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is steadily reading 2.0 feet at 8 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.
If the wind holds off might be a longboard glide out here in a small south-east swell with the incoming tide. Waves may get a little choppy this afternoon with the southwest winds, but they could remain light depending on the weather. High pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic late Sunday and into early next week, so expect small trade-wind swell to pick up again late day Monday and into the middle of next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “An upper level low over the Atlantic will drift west today and will push onshore and weaken over the Southeast early this week. High pressure will then expand over the region and will prevail into next weekend.”
It’s 78* with passing rain clouds. We’ll have a high of 85* today and partly cloudy for the afternoon
Water Temperature is around 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:28 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:23 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
