Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 2nd at 8:00 a.m.
Surf at the Pier this morning running around thigh-waist high with perhaps an inconsistent belly high set. Winds on it a bit and the morning high tide is making for some soft lines. Overall its rideable for sure but keep expectations in check.
Winds are moderate out of the SSW at 10-15mph adding some chop to the surf. Winds should remain the same through today.
We have a high tide near report time, low tide follows at 1:29 p.m. high tide will fill in at 8:02 p.m. Next low tide is 12:34 a.m..
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.0 feet at 9 seconds in medium period southeast ground swell.
Surf is still holding about thigh-waist high this morning its rideable just nothing to great. Looking ahead, the beginning of our work week looks to stay small but rideable with a chance of decent trade-swell from an offshore high pressure coupled with local SSW small wind-swell. Tropics have gone dormant for now. We will keep you all updated on any changes.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through early next week. Upper level disturbances could affect the area mid to late next week.”
Water temperature is around 80*
Its 82* with plenty of sunshine this morning. It’s humid. Temps will eventually climb to a high of 84* with sunshine persisting. It’s going to be a beautiful day at the beach.
Sunrise is at 6:15 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
