Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 3 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the Pier are knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set. Occasionally it’s slightly bigger.

Winds are south-west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is bumpy and semi-choppy. Looks like a fun morning for the high-volume board. Not as good as yesterday, but still rideable.

We are expecting winds to switch south-west at 10 knots late morning, going south at 15 late day.

High tide is at 11:30 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:16 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell, with a smaller south/south-east wind swell component.

Just a heads up that traffic is already heavy. There is still some surf out here for your Sunday, but it’s certainly not going-off like it was yesterday. It should fade out some on the late afternoon low tide, and be choppier. Looks like a small southerly trade-wind swell will builds into the early half of the work week as wind stays onshore from the south. Noting too big, but some waves to ride into the 4th of July holiday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region this week before a front approaches next weekend.”

It’s 76* and cloudy at the beach. Look for cloudy weather and a little wind in the afternoon. High of 84*.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
