Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 31 at 8:30 a.m.

The final day of the The 20th Annual Wahine Classic takes place today at The Washout. Come support the women as they compete today. We’ll see you out there.

Stop by the Ocean Surf Shop tent and say hello to Baxley and Vann. We’ve got your sun screen, surf wax, some drinks and some other goodies.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-to-thigh high with a waist high set and it’s choppy.

Winds are southwest at 10 to 15 knots.

Look for south-west winds at 10 to 15 knots late morning, going south at 15 to 20 later this afternoon. Overall surf-zone will be choppy and drifty today.

High tide is at 10:21 a.m., and ow tide will be at 4:13 p.m. The next high tide at 10:28 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south-west wind swell, with a south-east medium period swell 2 feet at 9 seconds.

Waves this morning running in the thigh-high range with some bigger sets. The south-west wind swell looks to begin to fade early week, and with high pressure set up over our marine area for the upcoming work-week, your surf forecast is looking pretty dismal. Still keeping an eye on the tropics, but not showing any hope 10 days out. Sigh.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail this week.”

It’s 83* with clouds this morning. We’ll have a high of 87* today and sunny to partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. Heat index breaking a hundred. Might be a thunderstorm later today.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:32 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:18 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
