Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for The Fourth of July , 2021 at 8:30 a.m.

We’ll be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday for the 4th of July holiday weekend. Come by and see us.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July.

Surf at the Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist high with a  slightly larger set in a small, clean ground swell. It is closing out at the lower tide.

Winds are north at 5 knots, and surf zone is clean.

Look for south-east winds this afternoon at 10 knots, and we see a semi-choppy, bumpy surf zone later today with waves averaging thigh-to-waist high.

We have a low tide at 10:18 a.m., and a high tide at 4:49 p.m.

We continue to see a south trade-wind style swell today averaging thigh high with some bump in it this afternoon as the winds come south-east at 10 to 12 knots. Surf looks on the smallish side for Monday, but of course we have Hurricane Elsa that looks to take a path up the Florida Peninsula and will likely bring us a choppy, windy/ wind-chop swell for mid-week. Look for waist high surf Tuesday. This builds into Wednesday and Thursday. This will be a windy swell event as the storm approaches from our south-west. Not looking like a clean hurricane swell. Hopefully the storm isn’t too strong, but might want to get ready to batten down the hatches Wednesday into early Thursday morning.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will stall south of the area through Monday. Tropical Storm Elsa could bring impacts to the region the middle of next week. Refer to the latest advisory on Elsa issued by the National Hurricane Center.”

It’s partly cloudy and 80* this morning. Look for partly cloudy skies today and a high of 84*.

Water temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:17 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
