Good morning, this is  Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, July 5 at 8:30 a.m.

Mandatory Mask Ordinance enacted by Folly Beach City Council on Monday. You must wear a mask in Ocean Surf Shop. Thank you for your cooperation, and for supporting our small, local business.

We have a new shipment of Odysea and Catch Surf soft-boards that arrived on over the weekend. Come check them out.

Surf at The Washout is showing knee high peelers with a rare thigh high set. It is super soft at the morning’s high tide.

Winds are light from the south-east, and surf is semi-clean.

Winds should increase today from the south-east at 15 knots. Look for choppier conditions as the day wears on.

We have a high tide at report time. Low tide follows arriving at 2:34 p.m. We see another high tide after sunset this evening at 9:12 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 8 seconds in ESE swell.

Looking ahead small typical summer conditions prevail the remainder of the holiday weekend and  to start the beginning of the work week. Mid-week we should begin to see signs of life in a fresh, local south wind-swell compliments of a low moving out of the Gulf and off-shore of our beaches. This should build surf into the waist to belly high range by the end of the work week as a low pressure pulls past our marine area. We will keep you in the loop.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will linger south of the area today, before lifting back north tonight into Monday. Low pressure will then bring unsettled weather to the region for much of the week.”

It’s 83* and Sunny this morning. Look for a hot, humid day with a  high of 87* and sun.

Water temperature is way up to 83*.

Sunrise is at 6:17 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
