Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, June 11th at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee to thigh high. It is dead low, but you can see some lines trying to push through. If the wind holds off for a while it could be fun on the incoming tide.
Winds are east/south-east at 5 knots, and surf-zone is fairly clean.
We will stay out of the south east today picking up to around 5-10 knots. The beach weather is absolutely perfect.
We have a low tide this morning at 8:50 a.m.. We have a high tide at 3:15 p.m., and a low tide at 9:22 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 7 seconds in a short-period east/south-east wind swell.
Today we have a little bump at low tide. Could be fun on the incoming tide. The start of the work week we should see a small building trend as a weak front and offshore high pressure should generate some onshore flow creating some typical wind/trade swell. But it’s looking like typical south-west wind swell as summer sets in, and waves get small. Only three months to go until you are a hero when hurricane swell moves in.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A warm front will lift northward through the region today, followed by a cold front advancing into the region Monday into Tuesday. The front could linger across the region through much of the week before shifting offshore next weekend.”
Water temperature is around 77*.
Its 77* with sunshine, but a little hazy. Look for a high of around 80* with sun and some passing clouds.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:27 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
