Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, June 12 at 8:30 a.m.
Come see us at the shop. Summer is in full swing, and we have tons of new summer apparel for men and women here at Ocean.
Surf at The Washout is knee-thigh high. Maybe a little waist high set every now and again, but we do have a dropping tide.
Winds are southwest at 9 to 13 knots, and surf zone is bumpy.
Look for south-west winds at 10 knots this morning. Winds increase to 10-15 knots with gust to 20 knots.
Low tide will be at 12:24 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:00 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 9.1 seconds in a medium-period, south-east wind swell.
Today is a little better than yesterday, at least something to ride. We should see a stronger, choppy south-west wind swell today into Monday. It’ll be drifty and choppy but should increase in size in the thigh to waist high range. This wind swell will fall off mid-week as high pressure sets up over our marine area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late next week. Thereafter, a cold front could impact the region”
It’s 81* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 84* with a mix of sun and clouds and breezy.
Water Temperature is around 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
