Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, June 6 at 8:00 a.m.
Come check out the new line of Mick Fanning Softboards that just arrived, including a few DHD fish models.
Surf at Folly is thigh-to-waist high with a larger set this morning (stomach high range).
Winds are south, south-east at 5-10 knots, and surf is bumpy and choppy with minimal power. An occasional set wave poses a more favorable ride, but the surf is very weak and crumbly.
Winds continue in a south, south-east direction all day in the 5-10 knots range. Surf-zone should maintain choppy texture throughout the day with slight drift.
We have a low tide at 11:49 a.m., and a high tide at 6:21 p.m.
We see continued south wind-swell this afternoon with choppy conditions at the higher tide. Surf should remain rideable throughout the day, but expect the waves to hold a crumbly texture with little power. Nothing outstanding to expect from the approaching swell this week, but it should continue to be rideable under the same conditions and similar wind direction. Winds trend south at 10 to 15 knots for the period, so expect some chop in the swell. Small weak south swell should prevail into early in the work week. Not big, but likely rideable on the right gear. There’s potential for a little more fun early next week, but we will keep you posted as the forecast develops.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail through the middle of next week.”
It’s 79* and cloudy at the beach. Look for a high of 81* and potential for rain this evening.
Water temperature is around 79*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:25 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
