Choppy

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Luke your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Clocks are having fun with us today.

Surf at Folly this morning is flat to knee high, choppy and weak overall with strong north-east winds. There is a current running down the beach.

Winds are east at 15 to 20 knots this morning. Looks for winds to start clocking in more out of the south later today.

We just had a high tide is at 11:56 a.m. with a low dropping out at 5:53 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 at 12 seconds from the ESE. There is also a larger NE swell but missing our shores to Florida.

Surf looks pretty ugly this morning knee high slop. We could get a little on-shore wind chop Sunday afternoon as winds come south, but if you want some surf, Florida might be the best call as the forecast calls for a north-east swell this weekend into early next week. Then into the middle of next week, it looks pretty dismal, with north winds and cooler weather. Not much surf in the forecast, unfortunately.

The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A storm system will impact our region Sunday into Sunday night. The system will move out of our area Monday morning, followed by unseasonably cold High pressure through the middle of next week.”

It’s cool 56* and partly sunny.. Look for rain to develop later this afternoon high of 68*.

Water temperature is up to 65*.

The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 7:37 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:23 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
