Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 14 at 8:15 a.m.

Don’t forget to push your clocks ahead an hour. Evening sessions are back on the day-planner.

Surf at The Washout this morning is waist-to-stomach high with an occasional chest set.  Still looks pretty fun, but it’s not quite as clean as it has been.

Winds are very light from the north-east this morning, and surf is semi-clean.

Look for winds to pick up from the north-east at 10 knots this afternoon, going south-east later today. We see semi-choppy surf today.

We will have a high tide at 9:30 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:29 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:40 pm.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 3.7 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell.

Lazy south-east trade wind swell should be the call through the rest of today, with north-east winds going south-east this afternoon. A backdoor cold front affects our marine area on Monday, and with it comes strong east/north-east winds and choppy easterly wind-swell. This rotates more onshore during the middle of next week, when we should have some more surf Tuesday through Thursday, with stronger south/south-west winds and chopper surf. There should be some surf this week, just not always the best quality.

It is currently 57* with sun and high clouds. Look for a great beach day with a high of 70* and sun with passing clouds this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 60*.  You’ll be OK in a 3/2 and maybe booties.

Remember to change your clocks. Sunrise is at 7:29 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:27 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
