Good morning this is Luke the kook with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning showing high angled NE wind-swell around knee-thigh high with a rare plus set on this mornings high tide.
Winds are from the north-east today around 12mph surf is a bit choppy.
We had an early morning high tide, and low tide drops out at 12:52 The next high tide is at 6:55 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3ft at 5 seconds from the NE.
Surfs dropped a bit from yesterday knee-thigh NE wind-swell nothing great. Surf unfortunately looks to stay down much of the upcoming week due to high pressure taking over our marine area here in Charleston. Although, if you have the means to get to Florida this upcoming week that would be the call. Big low pressure sets up mid-week tossing a long period large NE swell right to Florida. *This swell will be passing our shores locally* See ya in Florida!
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Monday, before a cold front crosses the region Tuesday into Tuesday night. High pressure will return thereafter. Another cold front cold impact the area late in the week.”
It’s 55* and there is sun mixed with clouds. Look for a high of 72* with clouds and sunshine mixed.
Water temperature is up to 65*.
The days are getting longer. Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:16 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
