Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist high with stomach high sets. It’s occasionally a little bigger. Looks like a fresh south-east wind swell moving into the beach.

Winds are slack this morning, and surf zone is bumpy even though there is not much wind.

Look for winds to rotate south at 10 to 12 knots this afternoon. And we see bumpy, semi-choppy ground swell in the water all day. Should be some surf all day. The weather is perfect, and it looks like a nice day for a surf.

High tide will be at 10:40 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:21 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is showing a fresh south/south-east swell 4.6 ft at 6 seconds in short-period south/south-east swell. Plenty of swell at the buoy, so there should be surf all day.

High pressure sets up to end the weekend, and we have some fun surf in the water today with perfect weather. I’d look for some traffic if you come mid/late morning. We should see surf into the middle part of the next work week but winds come strong south-west on Monday and into the middle of the week. There should be some waves to ride the majority of the upcoming work week as a series of fronts brings rain and wind to our marine area. We see smaller east swell late in the work week. But still, something to ride. It should be a decent week of surf at Folly.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will extend across the area through Monday. A series of fronts will bring unsettled weather to the area Tuesday into next weekend.”

It’s 64* with bright sunshine this morning. Look for a high of 72* and sun all day. It’s really nice at the beach. And yes, there is some traffic.

Water Temperature is up to around 62*. It should be on the rise later this week as warm temperatures return.

Sunrise is at 6:4o a.m., and sunset will be at 6:20 p.m.
