Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, March 7 at 8:00 a.m.
New Olukai flops and shoes have arrived for men and women. Come by and check it out!
Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle-thigh high in a clean east/south-east, east/north-east wind swell.
Winds are light out of the north at 8-10 knots. Textures are clean and weak. Overall, not much surf out here today, surf should remain semi-clean throughout the day with those lighter northerly winds.
Look for north/north-west winds to pick up this afternoon at 10 knots with higher gust in the 15+ range. Conditions should remain the same all day, progressively more choppy if anything.
We are coming off a low tide this morning at 8:54a.m. We have a high tide at 3:01 p.m., and a low tide at 9:05 p.m tonight.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.2 ft at 4 seconds in a short period east/north-east wind swell.
We have clean northerly wind swell passing by our beaches for the next several days, so we don’t really expect any significant swell through the middle of next week. Florida might be your best bet to get wet. We could see a significant trade wind swell late next week and into next weekend as high pressure sets up off the Mid-Atlantic, but it is a-ways off. Keep an eye on Thursday, as the forecast looks to be churning some size for that Thursday-Saturday period. We’ll keep you updated.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will steadily build into the region through Monday, then move off the coast by the middle of the week.”
It is currently 46* with lots of sun this morning. Look for a high of 57* and sun to remain full on this afternoon.
Water temperature is 57*.
Sunrise is at 6:39 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:22 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
