Good morning this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, May 14 at 8:30 a.m.
The SSC-ESA Ocean Surf Shop contest will take place at The Washout today, so wax your sticks and get ready to be a winner.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!
Surf this morning showing knee-high at a very low tide. Might get a push with the incoming, but not looking too good this morning.
Winds are light and variable making for clean conditions early. Winds will eventually pick up light out of the south 5-10mph putting some texture to the ocean surface.
Low tide is at 9:15 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:28 p.m. The next low tide at 9:36 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 8 seconds in a medium period ESE swell.
High pressure remains today providing small surf, but perhaps enough the get the logs moving on the right tides today. Looking ahead, surf stays down Monday. Mid-week a mild low looks to develop just north of our swell window producing a NE swell for our area which unfortunately South carolina shoreline does not receive so well. Florida should have surf but onshore winds during the event.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Weak high pressure will prevail through the weekend. A weak cold front will move in from the north early next week and stall near the area.
Its 71* and sunny this morning. Look for clouds and showers to develop later today with a high of 79*
Water temperature is 75*.
Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:10 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
