Good morning, this is Luke with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, May 24 at 7:00 a.m.

The City of Folly Beach is now open. Social distancing rules will be enforced. Please see the City of Folly Beach’s Web Site for more information.

We will be open from 9:15 a.m. until 6 p.m. Please follow social distancing protocols when shopping.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-thigh high maybe a plus set. Looks to have a little more push and size than yesterday. Swell has rotated more favorably from the ESE.

Winds are light and variable early this morning making for clean surface conditions.

Winds are predicted to pick up from the south-west at 5-10 knots today adding a little texture to it during afternoon hours.

High tide is at 9:43 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:41 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 ft at 10 seconds in a long period ESE swell from what’s left of tropical depression Arthur.

We see small high angled east-south-east ground swell and some south-east wind swell continue today. Best for the longboard. Surf continues its fading trend through the rest of Memorial Day weekend as high pressure begins to settle itself over our marine area. Looking ahead into early next week high pressure moves offshore and looks to produce a decent shot of ESE trade-swell beginning mid-week. Looks like the swell should hold on for a few days we will keep you posted!”

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A stationary front will remain over or near the area today before high pressure builds from the north tonight. The high will then shift offshore through the week while a trough lingers near the coast into late week.”

It’s 73 degrees at first light with sun and a few clouds this morning. Look for a high of 86 with a chance of thundershowers later in the afternoon.

Water temperature is around 75*.  Back to boardies and bikinis.

Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:16 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
