Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, May 29 at 8:30 a.m.

We will be open for our summer hours. We’ll be open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily, but will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday and Memorial Day. Come see us when you get to the beach.

The traffic is already starting to back up this morning, so get ready to whip out the wallet if you want to park today and tomorrow.

Waves at The Washout this morning are knee-high with a thigh. There is a decent little long-board wave running this morning.

Winds are south/south-west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is overall clean.

Looking for winds to switch to out of the south-east at 10 knots and we should see some surface chop on small surf for your Sunday afternoon.

We are just coming off a high tide, low tide will be at 1:45 p.m. The next high tide will be at 8:12 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 6 seconds in a shorth-period, south/south-east wind swell.

High pressure sets up over our marine area this week and we expect small during most of the work week, with no real swell-making systems approaching until late week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail most of this week. A cold front could bring some impacts to the region late in the week.”

It’s 79* and sunny.  High of 82* and sunshine. Beautiful day at the beach!

Water Temperature is still around 80*.
