Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms we love and appreciate. Thanks for all you do, now go surf.

Surf at The Washout this morning is flat to knee high, however.

Winds are south-west at 10 knots and surf is semi-clean.

Look for winds to pick up from the south-west at 15 to 20 this afternoon as surf builds in a choppy south-west wind swell.

Tide is going out. We have a low tide at 1:05 a.m., and a high tide will be at 7:28 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are 1.6 ft. at 8 seconds in an easterly swell.

Surf should build some late today in a choppy south-west wind swell. Another cold front approaches our marine area early this week, and surf once again picks up a bit in a choppy, drifty south/south-west wind swell ahead of a cold front Monday. Look for offshore winds and a clean up for Tuesday, before swell builds but comes more easterly for mid-week. Some swell models are showing another low pressure form off of our marine area late next week, increasing swell size Thursday into Friday. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the weekend. Low pressure and a cold front will approach the region early week, then linger through mid-week. High pressure will build into the region by late week.”

This morning is beautiful. It’s 70* and sunny. Look for sun and a high of 77* and nice beach weather for your Mother’s Day.

Water temperature is up to around 73*.

Sunrise is at 6:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:08 p.m.
