Dangers: None.

Good morning. This is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, November 16 at 8:30 a.m.

The weather is nice out here at Folly, if not a little windy. Great day for a walk on the beach, but the surf is small.

Waves are running knee-to-thigh high in a short period and choppy south-west wind swell.

Look for west/south-west winds to continue today at 15 to 20 knots, and we see a drifty, choppy surf zone today.

Winds are out of the west/south-west at 15 to 18 knots, and there is some drift running up the beach.

Low tide is at 10:59 a.m. High tide will be 5 p.m. We might see the surf pick up on the incoming tide mid-afternoon averaging waist high, but conditions won’t be great.

The Edisto buoy is showing 6 ft. at 6 sec. in a short period south-west wind swell.

Not much surf for today. Waves average knee-to-thigh high for the day, with drifty conditions. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there is not a lot on the horizon for wave-action over the next four or five days as high pressure takes over our weather pattern. The weather is still beautiful, and it’s good fishing weather for sure.

Our friends over at NOAA predict that, “High pressure will remain the primary feature through the weekend. A dry cold front will move through the area Sunday night before high pressure returns early next week.”

Water temp is around 62*.

It’s 64* and sunny this morning. Look for a high is 72* and breezy with sunshine.

Sunrise was 6:50 a.m. Sunset 5:19 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
