Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, November 7 at 8:30 a.m.
After the time change last night, we will move to our winter hours starting Monday. Hours will be 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We will close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Surf at The Washout is waist-to-chest high. It’s side-shore and fairly clean. A bit weak at the high tide, but it’s not quite as drifty as it has been this weekend. It looks fun.
Winds are north/north-west this morning at 15 to 20. Look for north winds this afternoon at 15 to 20, dropping to 15 knots late.
High tide is at 9:30 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:44 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 13 ft. at 9 seconds in a medium period east, north-east wind swell. A lot of that swell is passing by our beaches.
Surf looks pretty fun this morning. We have a low pressure off the coast bringing us continued, semi-clean, high-angled north-east swell today. This trend continues into Monday, with surf dropping in size Monday into mid-week. If you want some fun surf early in the work week, head to north or central Florida. You can say hello to some sad Gator fans, while you are there.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “An area of low pressure off the coast will move slowly northeast and away from the area through tonight. High pressure will then gradually build back into the region through the middle of next week. A cold front is expected to cross the area late next week.”
It’s 52* and raining this morning. Look for cold weather and rain all day with a high of 60. Beware of coastal flooding for today and tomorrow. There is still a gale warning in effect for our marine area.
Water temperature is going down. It’s now 62*. That’s about a 10* drop in one week, but it should warm up some mid-week.
Set your clocks back an hour. Sunrise is at 6:43 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:24 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
