Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, Oct. 20th at 10 a.m.

We apologize for the late report, we had some technical difficulties this morning.

We will have the full line of Billabong and O’Neill jackets, full-suits, and spring suits on the floor. Get ready for some cooler weather. Looks like waves on the way next week.

Surf at the Washout this morning is chest to shoulder high with a bigger set.

Winds are just starting to clock around. It’s setting up drifty surf – up the beach – with crossed up conditions, but cleaning up fast. Look for winds to rotate more westerly, then north-west late at 10 to 15 knots. Cleaning surf up as the tide drops out this afternoon.

We have a high tide at 12:55 p.m, and a low tide will be at 7:30 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 10.8 ft in a combination of south-east swell 5.9 ft. at 10 seconds, and south wind swell 9.2 ft. at 8 seconds.

It’s going to be a good afternoon of surf as the tide drops out and the wind begins to clock off-shore. The low that was Tropical Storm Nestor moves to our north overnight look for our winds to begin rotating more northerly to start the work week. We could see a quick shot of south-west wind swell Tuesday ahead of a cold front. But today is the day, if you can get out here.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Low pressure will move away from the area today while high pressure briefly builds in. A frontal system will affect the area Monday night and Tuesday. High pressure will rebuild late Tuesday through Thursday before another storm system potentially moves in Friday or Saturday.”

It’s 68* and cloudy skies as Nestor comes close. Look for a high of 77* and mostly cloudy skies until late day.

Water temperature has dropped to 74*.

Sunrise is at 7:25 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:43 p.m.
