Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, October 4 at 8:30 a.m.
You can now park in right-of-way on the side streets at Folly Monday through Thursday. Keep in mind parking restrictions still apply Friday through Sunday. Check the City of Folly Beach’s Web site for more information.
We just received another shipment of Gary Wilson surf-boards. Come check out the new stock.
We still have a mandatory mask ordinance in effect for Folly Beach.
Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh. Maybe slightly larger in a drifty peak. It is a bit soft. Bring a high-volume board if you want to get wet.
Winds are north at 10 to 15 knots, and the surf-zone is side-shore and a bit drifty, but fairly clean.
Look for winds to increase north today – side-shore – 15 knots, adding some drift all day.
High tide is at 9:56 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:11 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:19 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down, but virtual buoy is showing 5.6 ft at 7 seconds in a medium-period, high-angled east/north-east swell.
A few waves for the high-volume board with clean conditions at high-tide this morning. This should fall out on the lower tide this afternoon. North-east winds increase to start the work week We see smallish, high-angled north-east wind swell fill-in this afternoon, into Monday. Expect drifty wind swell conditions with moderately strong north-east winds for the period.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A coastal trough will move up the coast today, then high pressure will prevail through Thursday. An upper level disturbance may bring unsettled weather to the area Friday through Sunday.”
It’s 63* little chilly this morning with cloudy skies. Look for more cloudy skies throughout the day. We’ll see a high of only 68*.
Water temperature is 73*.
Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:58 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
