Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday October 11 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at the Washout is knee-to-thigh high in a weak, high angled easterly swell. Might want to bring the long board with the side, off-shore winds.

Winds are north at 15 knots, and surf zone is textured and clean with a slight bit of drift down the beach.

Look for north winds all 10 to 20 knots. We see clean, side-shore and drifty surf today.

High tide is at 11:37 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:55 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 2 feet at 10 seconds in long period easterly swell with a north-easterly, short period wind swell running past our beaches. It’s reading 5.6 feet at 6 seconds.

There is high angled, small north-east swell passing by Folly on the way down to Florida, and we see clean-ish, small surf today with side-shore conditions. This trend continues into the work week with high pressure set up over our marine area and small surf on tap through mid-week.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A complex storm system will bring periods of unsettled weather through Saturday. Weak high pressure will then build into the region and persist through the following week.”

It’s 70* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 79* this afternoon with the sun busting through at some point later today.

Water temperature is 79*.

Sunrise is at 7:20 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:52 p.m.
