Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Saturday, October 9 at 8:30 a.m.

As of Monday, we will be opening at 10 a.m. for our fall hours.

Waves at The Washout this morning are knee to thigh high.

Winds are north-east at 10 to 12 knots and surf is semi-choppy and weak. It’s a bit drifty from north-to-south. It’s breaking into the rocks at the morning’s high tide.

We see winds continue north-east at 10 to 15 knots today. Surf should be choppy but stay small for your Sunday.

We just had a high tide. Low tide will be at 2:10 p.m., and high tide will be at 8:26 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 feet at 6 seconds in a fresh north-east wind swell, most of which is passing by our beaches.

We look for high-angled north-east wind waves to build starting small today and building a bit into the first half of the work week. This wind swell will build and rotate easterly into the middle part of the work week with drifty conditions and high-angled, semi-choppy east/north-east wind waves. This easterly swell rotates more on-shore Thursday into Friday, which should make for some fun surf, if not very clean.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region into early next week. A cold front is forecast to pass through the region late week.”

Water temperature is running around 71*.

It’s nice and sunny this morning, with temps around 65* and sun. We see a high of 75* today with sun.

Sunrise is at 7:19 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:54 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
