Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Sunday, September 18 at 8:30 a.m.

New Gary Wilson boards are in the shop. Just in time for our next hurricane swell. Surf fast and take chances.

Waves at Folly this morning are averaging knee-to-thigh at the low tide. It’s side-shore and semi-choppy with some drift from north-to-south. Doesn’t look too fun this morning.

Winds are north/north-east at 15 knots.oppy

Winds rotate east and will increase 15 to 20 knots mid-afternoon. We see a choppy, drifty surf zone this afternoon with high-angled north-east wind swell in the water today.

We just had a low tide a minute ago. High tide will be at 2:51 p.m., and low tide will be at 9:19 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.9 feet at 5 seconds in a short-period east/south-east wind swell.

We should see choppy east/north-east wind waves today with some drift from north to south. We see strong east winds and high angled, short period north-easterly conditions today through Monday. Look for this high angled easterly swell to rotate more onshore Monday into Tuesday, when we will likely have some fun surf. We now have Tropical Storm Fiona in the picture, moving into the Caribbean this weekend and into our swell Tuesday/Wednesday. This should push some hurricane swell into our beaches Wednesday into Thursday of next week with moderate easterly winds expected. Winds go north-east at a good clip, Friday, so get on it early/mid-week. Leash up and be a hero.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A trough of low pressure will remain just off the coast through Tuesday. Meanwhile, High pressure is forecasted to expand over the area from the northwest.”

Water Temperature is around 82*.

It’s 76* and sunny this morning. We have beautiful beach weather with a high of 81* and sun today.

Sunrise is at 7:05 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:22 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
