THURDAY JUNE 23

Clean. West winds. Should stay clean for a time.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Thigh-to-waist. Surprisingly fun, early.
Traffic: Some local traffic. Still not to bad getting on to the island.
Parking: Ehhhh. Might have to look.
Dangers: Golf cart concentration is high.

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, June 23 at 8:30 a.m.

Today we have a little surf. Waves are running around waist high and fairly clean. The only issue is the tide is backing out so its breaking fast and closing out, although there are some holding up.

Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf zone is clean early this morning.

Winds are going to swing through north-west, north, then finally out of the east late today. Expecting winds to be 5-10 knots.

We have a low tide at 10:15 a.m. High tide will be at 4:47 p.m., and low tide will be at 11:04 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 0.7 feet at 10 seconds out of the south/south-east. We have a southwest windswell at 5.9ft and 6.2 seconds.

Typical summer south-west wind swell in the water today. Not a lot of swell making systems predicted this week. Probably just for the day with maybe some residual into the weekend. Welcome to summer surf.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A broad area of low pressure over the central Carolinas will remain through today. A cold front will then stall over or near the area late week into the weekend. Another cold front will approach the region towards the middle of next week.

It’s nice at the beach. It’s 83* with sunshine. Look for a high of 91* with sun and passing clouds today.

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
