Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, November 16 at 8:30 a.m.
We’ll be having our “Schwack” Friday sale starting the day after Thanksgiving, with 25% off Sunglasses, apparel and more, as well as $125 off of any NEW board in the shop, excluding soft-boards (we’ll mark those down as well). Make sure to check it out and save some money on your Christmas gifts.
Waves at the Washout are running knee to thigh high on the outgoing tide this morning in east/north-east wind swell. It looks like there could be a bigger set late this afternoon as the tide starts back in, but overall surf is small and glassy.
We have NNW winds at 5 to 10 knots, and surf is glassy and clean.
Expect light north winds this morning at 5 to 10 knots with lighter winds this afternoon and the surf zone should be glassy and clean all day.
We have a low tide at 12:11 a.m., and a high tide will be at 6:25 p.m.
Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 7.1 seconds in short period north wind waves, with a pretty high angle on the swell, so most is rolling past our beaches.
We have small conditions for the AM session with light NNW winds making the surf clean and glassy. Surf should average thigh high on the incoming tide this afternoon with light winds under 5-8 knots. What’s left of this swell will drop throughout the day and your Friday is looking pretty small. We see choppy south-west wind swell average thigh to waist high for your Saturday as south-west winds increase ahead of a cold front, moving through over-night Saturday.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late week. A cold front will pass through the region this weekend. High pressure will then return early next week.”
It’s 49* and sunny at the beach this morning. Look for cool weather with a high of only 68* and sunny skies.
Water temperature has dropped to 64*.
Sunset is at 5:18 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:48 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
