Side-shore, weak and drifty.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee. But it's terrible.
Traffic: Some, but not too bad.
Parking: Lots.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a shipment of men’s Billabong 2 MM short-sleeve full suits for the spring session. Come get them while we still have some in stock.

Surf at The Washout this morning is pretty much flat. Maybe shin to knee high. It is weak and drifting down the beach with a strong side-shore wind.

Winds are north at 15 to 20 behind a cold front passage yesterday.

Look for north winds to abate 15 knots this afternoon, then go south late day at 5 knots.

Low tide is at 10:50 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:44 p.m. The next low tide is at 10:50 p.m.

Virtual buoy readings are showing 4.2 ft at 5 seconds in a short-period north/north-east wind swell passing by our beaches.

Waves are terrible once again, and will stay small for Friday. Low pressure moves into our marine area and offshore on Saturday, we see surf pick up Saturday in a windy south wind swell. Winds go north-west for Sunday, and hopefully will clean up Saturday’s south wind swell.  Sunday might look like the call for some cleaner, fun surf.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Friday, before a low pressure system impacts the region over the weekend. High pressure will return early next week.”

It’s a cool 48* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 59* and sun this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 69*.

Sunrise is at 6:40 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:55 p.m. Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop
