Winds are west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is clean.
Look for increasing south-westerly winds at 15 to 20 knots this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front, adding significant bump and chop to the surf zone for afternoon.
We are coming off a low tide at day-break, high tide will be at 1:16 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:14 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 3 ft. at 9 seconds in an east/south-east swell mixed with a south/south-west wind swell.
We have small south-west wind waves in the water this morning. It’s OK on the longboard or fish as the tide comes in. We see choppy, “small-ish,” south-west wind swell fill in this afternoon. Unsettled weather will be pushing in mixed direction south wind swell for Friday ahead of a cold front with better size and choppy conditions. Winds go north after a cold front passage Friday night, and we’ll see small surf for the weekend and into next week.
