Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 27 at 8:30 a.m.
We have a ton of spring-suits and wetsuit jackets in stock here at the shop. Get ready to get into the water for the weekend’s swell.
Surf at Folly on the low tide is knee-high this morning. There will likely push a thigh high set on the incoming in a high-angled easterly wind swell.
Winds are north/north-east – side-shore – at 12 knots, and surf zone is drifty down the beach, and semi-choppy.
We just came off a low tide. We have a high tide at 2:21 p.m. A low tide will follow later this evening at 8:08 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 feet at 5 seconds in a short-period east/north-east wind swell.
We have east/north-easterly wind swell in the water this morning. Look for increasing easterly winds this afternoon averaging 15 knots and choppy, drifty conditions for your Thursday afternoon. This swell begins to rotate more onshore overnight Thursday into Friday ahead of storm systems late week. Friday looks to be choppy, but bigger. Look for a slight clean up Saturday, but with a series of springtime disturbances crossing our marine area Sunday and Monday Surf should pick up again in a windy south-west wind swell on Sunday, and there will likely be a windy clean-up sometime on the high tide Monday afternoon.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A series of storm systems will bring impacts to the area through early next week. High pressure will then return by the middle of next week.
Its 65 this morning with cloudy skies. Look for a high of 73 with some partly cloudy skies this afternoon and thunderstorms late day.
Water temperature is 71*.
Sunrise is at 6:38 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:56 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
