Wave Forecast: Flat. Maybe knee.
Traffic: A little.
Parking: Some to be had.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 28 at 8:30 a.m.

We have lots of spring merchandise arriving daily here at the shop, including new boardshorts and hybrid-walk shorts from all of your favorite surf brands. WE also have a large selection of bikinis. Come check it out.

Waves at The Washout this morning is flat to knee high.

Winds are north at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is side-shore and slightly textured.

Winds will rotate more north-east this afternoon at 10 to 15 knots, and we can expect a light chop on small surf this afternoon.

Tide is going out. Low tide will be at 12:55 p.m. High tide will be at 7:18 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 3 seconds in a short period north-east wind swell with a small, long-period easterly swell component that’s not even worth mentioning.

Surf is smaller today and into the end of the week as high angled north/north-east wind swell moves past our beaches with high pressure set up over our marine area. A front might stall over our marine area for the weekend, and this could push up slightly bigger surf, but nothing to write home about. Maybe a small wind wave for Saturday. The best chance for more meaningful surf will come Tuesday and into the middle of next week as high pressure sets up off the mid-Atlantic again. We should see south flow increase and push up a fun, trade-wind swell for the middle of next week. Meanwhile, get the yardwork done.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail into late week. A front could stall over or near the area this weekend, potentially bringing unsettled weather.”

It’s a cool 63* this morning with sun at the beach. We see a beautiful spring beach day with a high of 70*.

Water Temperature is around 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:36 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:58 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
