Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, April 5th at 8:30 a.m.
Farewell Mick Fanning! Congrats to Italo and Steph on their wins last night at Bells!
Surf at the Washout is running in the shin to knee high range with sideshore and textured conditions.
Winds are strong out of the NNE at 15-20 knots so the waves are running down the beach.
Winds are expected to lighten this afternoon before shifting S tonight then SSE tomorrow at about 5 knots.
Low tide will be at 6:03 pm followed by high at 12:05 pm.
The Edisto buoy reading 6.9 ft. at 5 seconds in a combination steep NNE wind swell mix.
We see small scale surf over the next couple of days, with potential for waves over the weekend as winds lay down in between storm activity and as a cold front moves through the area.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Dry high pressure will prevail across the region through Friday. A cold front will affect the area Saturday and Saturday night. High pressure will briefly rebuild on Sunday, then low pressure will move through Sunday night and Monday. Dry high pressure will then build over the area Tuesday through late next week.”
It is 51* with sun and clouds this morning. Look for a high of 61* with wind and clouds with some sun mixed in. Water temperature is around 60*. Sunset is at 7:43 p.m. and sunrise will be at 7:03 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
