Wave Forecast: Knee. Maybe a thigh set on incoming late morning. Not good, tho.
Traffic: Some local, not hard to get on the island.
Parking: Some, yes.
Dangers: Jellyfish stings.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, August 4 at 8:30 a.m.  

New Pyzel’s just arrived as well as Solid and some new Orion longboards and some shorties.

Waves at Folly this morning are knee-high and fairly weak. Look for a weak, choppy thigh set as the tide comes in, but not much to be exited about.

Winds are south at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is choppy this morning.   

Look for winds to continue south at 10 to 15 knots today, and surf will remain choppy for most of your Thursday.     

Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 1:13 p.m. The next low tide will be at 7:30 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell with a short period south swell component mixed in. Not much at the buoy.

Waves this morning running in the knee-high range with a bigger set here and there. It’s choppy. With high pressure set up over our marine area for the next five days, your surf forecast is looking pretty dismal. Still keeping an eye on the tropics, but not showing any hope 10 days out.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail in the Atlantic this week with occasional surface troughing across the region.”

It’s 82* with sunshine this morning. Look for a high of 91* with sun and passing clouds this afternoon. Threre is a slight chance for a thunderstorm with the late day heating.    

Water Temperature is about as hot as it gets. It’s around 86*.

Sunrise is at 6:35 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:15 p.m.
