Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, December 17 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee high with a thigh set. It’s kind of weak at the high tide, but if you bring the log, you might catch a few.
Winds are north-west at 10 knots. Surf is very clean.
Look for wind to continue north-west at 10 knots today, and we see fading surf and a clean surf-zone.
High tide is right around 9:57 a.m. Low tide is at 3:58 p.m.
Virtual buoy data is reading 2 ft at 9 seconds in an east/south-east swell
High pressure builds into our area from the west today, and we should see off-shore flow and small surf through the next five days.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will slowly build in from the west through Saturday. A weak storm system could cause some impacts across the region early next week, followed by a return of high pressure.”
It’s 43* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 51* and with sun trying to come out behind the clouds this afternoon.
Water temperature has dropped to 57*.
Sunrise is at 7:15 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
