We see south winds at 15 to 20 with higher gusts this morning, with winds going side-shore south-west at 15 to 20 later this afternoon. We see a choppy surf zone with big waves today.
Tide just started coming in, and high tide will be at 12:19 p.m., and low tide will be at 6:39 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 7 feet at 7 seconds in a big, short period south wind swell.
Big south wind-swell is in the forecast today, as a frontal boundary moves through our marine area. There might be a quick clean up late today that continues for Friday morning. Keep an eye on the flags. But winds come strong westerly behind the front, and surf looks to get small with the off-shore flow as north-east swell moves past our beaches to Florida Saturday and Sunday. Might be another good weekend to head down south.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will bring impacts to the region today into tonight. High pressure will then return and prevail through the middle of next week.”
It’s a humid 69* and raining this morning. Look for a high of 72* today with rain through mid-afternoon.
Water temperature is still around 61*.
Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
