Should be clean today.

Time of Report: 9 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee. Maybe thigh.
Traffic: Not bad.
Parking: Yes.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Thursday, February 1 at 9 a.m.

Today surf at the Pier is knee high, with a thigh set. One superhero going after it!

Winds are currently north/north-west at 10 knots, and surf-zone is clean.

Look for winds to fade off some today, blowing north at 5 to 10 today, and surf zone stays relatively clean all day, with small surf in the forecast.

High tide is at 11 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:08 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is reading 3.4 feet at 6 seconds in a short period east/northeast swell. With not much showing at the beach.

Not much out there today or the next few days. There is a downward trend in surf conditions for most of the work week as winds stay side-shore or off-shore all week long. Looks like a chance for surf starting Monday into early next week as low-pressure forms near the coast and begins to move north-east of our marine area. As high pressure sets up to our south and this low moves off New England’s coastal waters, look for strong north/north-east wind to develop early through the middle of the next work week, and we see strong north/north-east wind swell Tuesday/Wednesday. Florida might be the call, but winds could still influence the surf down south.

It’s 43* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 55* today and sun. Put on a jacket and it’s a nice day for a walk on the beach.

Water temp is around 55*.
