Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 10 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at The Washout this morning is flat with a knee-high set. It is weak and textured.
Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf zone is overall pretty clean.
Look for winds to continue west at 5 to 10 knots. Surf-zone stays clean and small today, but the weather at the beach is really nice.
Tide just started coming in. High tide is at 3:09 this afternoon, and low tide will be at 9:03 this evening.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.3 ft. at 6 seconds in a short-period easterly swell, with a west/south-west wind swell pushing against it, so not much surf today.
Surf is looking pretty dang small though Saturday. A coastal storm should pull through the area on Sunday, and that will be our next best chance for waves, but it’s still not really looking too promising for at least the next five days. We’ll keep you posted.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region into Saturday. A cold front and coastal storm could bring some impacts to the area on Sunday, followed by high pressure into the middle of next week.”
It’s really pretty nice at the beach. It’s 55* and sunny. Look for a high of 62* with mostly sun today. It’s a glorious beach day.
Water Temperature is around 50*.
Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
