Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 13 at 8:30 a.m.

All of our full-suits in the shop are now on sale. Come see if we have something that fits you while the selection is still good.

Surf at Folly this morning running thigh-to-waist high with an occasional stomach set. It is very foggy again today. Surf is weak at the higher tide.

Winds are from the south-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is fairly choppy.

Look for winds to increase from the south-west today at 20 to 25 knots ahead of an approaching cold front. Surf will be choppy and drifty today.

We have an incoming tide, high at 10:56 a.m., and a low tide at 5:08 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 ft at 7 seconds in a dominant south/south-east short period wind-swell.

South-west winds pick up ahead of another cold front passing this evening, and we see building, drifty south/south-west wind swell in the water today. After the cold front passage on tonight, winds and wind-swell swing west, then north/north-east, offering smaller, colder surf with drifty choppy conditions for Friday. This trend continues into the weekend. We see another storm system approach early-to-middle part of next week, so surf could pick up again from the south ahead of the system.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will move through late today followed by cooler high pressure into Sunday. An upper disturbance and then a cold front will then likely affect the area early to mid next week.”

It’s 65* and very foggy at the beach. Look for a rain this afternoon and a high of 72*.

Water temperature is 57*.

Sunrise is at 7:04 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:02 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
