Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Thursday, Feb 8th at 8:15 a.m.

The Pier is looking pretty clean with waves around thigh-waist. A little swell in the water so definitely need to be patient for the sets. Washout may start breaking a little better as the tide has receded a little since a really full high tide.

Winds are currently north at 5 knots. Winds will stay fairly light today and swing a little more easterly throughout the day.

First high tide was at 6:21 a.m. Low tide is 12:33 p.m. We have a high tide today at 6.27 p.m.  Just at last light.

Edisto Buoy is reading 5.2 feet at 10 seconds east/south-east medium period swell.

There is definitely some swell in the water, this morning has some gems sneaking through coming off the high tide. Tides have a large swing to them so it may drain it out. Keep an eye on the incoming tide. Could be fun if winds stay light. May be some leftovers that clean up Friday morning. We’ll keep you updated.

Water temp is around 55*.

The NOAA Marine Forecast for our waters calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late in the week. A storm system is expected to move through our region early next week.

It’s 43* and sunny. Look for a high of 57* today and sunshine.

Sunrise is 7:10 a.m., Sunset 5:56 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
