Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thurdsay, February 11 at 8:30 a.m.
We received a new shipment of Reef flops for men and women. Come pick up a pair. Spring is right around the corner.
Surf this morning is knee-to-thigh high and very clean and a bit weak at the higher tide. Best for the long-board for sure.
Winds are light from the north-west.
Winds rotate south at 5 to 8 knots this afternoon, adding some bump to the surf. It should be clean-ish all day, with heavy fog predicted for our beaches.
Tide is just now going out, and we have a low tide at 1:40 p.m. High tide is at 7:43 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 2.8 ft. at 8 seconds in a medium-period east/south-east swell.
There is still a little something to ride for the longboard this morning, with clean conditions on the outgoing tide. Look for light southerly winds bumping up continued small south swell for this afternoon. Likely still rideable on the right gear. After a cold front passage Friday, we see a typical, high angled north-east wind swell pass by our beaches for the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will move into the area late tonight, then shift offshore Friday. A series of storm systems will likely impact the region late weekend through early next week, before high pressure returns during the middle of next week. A stronger low pressure system could impact the region during the later half of next week.”
It is 55* and very foggy at the beach. Look for a high of 61* and clouds with occasional showers this afternoon.
Water temperature is 52*.
Sunrise is at 7:05 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:01 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
