Good morning this is Luke the kook with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 23 at 8:30 a.m.
We still have 4/3 and 3/2 wetsuits on sale, so come scoop them up.
Surf at Folly this morning is thigh-waist+ in fresh SSW wind-swell.
The winds are currently SSW at 15mph making for choppy mixed up conditions.
Look for winds to continue SSW and have higher gust possible as the day progresses.
We have a high tide at 10:21 a.m. and a low tide at 4:26 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.3 feet at 6 seconds in a short period south swell.
Surfs picked up a bit overnight showing waist+ sets on this morning’s high tide. Although the wind is on it making for not ideal conditions it still looks like you can have some fun. Friday, we could see a quick clean-up as a cold front moves into the area, and winds come more off-shore at some point, likely Friday morning. The weather is warm, and there’s some surf to ride, so get on it, even if it’s not the perfect swell. Swell goes high angled north-east for the weekend after the cold front passage on Friday. Looking into early next week we could see a significant SSW build in on Monday from a Low that looks to interact with our marine area. Well keep you in the LOOP!
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through tonight, before a cold front drops in from the northwest Friday and stalls to our south. Another cold front will approach the area early next week.”
It’s a warm 64* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 78* today and clouds mixed with sun.
Water temperature is 60*.
Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:05 p.m.
