Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Thursday, February 25 at 8 a.m.
We finally have a fresh stock of SofTech softboards and all sizes of body boards back in the shop. Come check them out and get ready for spring-time surf before they sell out again! We also just received a shipment of Future fins! Come check it out!
Surf at The Washout is shin-to-knee high.
Winds are out of the west-south-west at 5 knots and surf zone is holding fairly glassy form, with some very light texture.
Look for winds to remain 5kts or less throughout the day, south-south-west winds later this afternoon. Surf will likely remain small and semi-glassy into the evening, as the winds are calling to die down as the sun sets.
High tide this morning is 6:14a.m. Low tide is at 12:30 p.m., and high tide tonight is at 6:35 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.6 ft. at 9 seconds in a small, medium period east, south-easterly wind swell.
We see winds decrease from the west/south-west this evening into Friday morning, making for similar swell size to what we see this morning. Look for a weak cold front to move into the area over night before stalling out. Two low pressure systems appear to be headed this way, one that should arrive Friday into Friday night, the other appearing early next week. Those seem to be our best chances at receiving any swell size and unfortunately the forecast for this weekend seems to have died down, but keep an eye on the cams and forecast as it unfolds! We’ll keep you posted.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure today will give way to a weak cold front approaching from the north tonight before stalling out. A wave of low pressure could impact the region Friday into Friday night. The next frontal system appears to approach the area early next week, followed by another system by mid-week.
It is 55* this morning with sunny skies. Look for the sun to keep shining for the remainder of the day, with a high of 70*.
Water temperature is 53*.
Sunrise is at 6:51 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:14 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
